Qualifications:
Degree level qualification in mechanical engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering or similar

Skills Required:

Knowledge of emissions aftertreatment simulation techniques.
Working knowledge of diesel engine emissions aftertreatment systems and calibration.
Proven knowledge on emissions testing of EU4/5/6 diesel engines and vehicles, including cDPF systems.

Skills Preferred:

Core engineering experience, with the ability to evaluate problems and propose resolutions.
Working knowledge on use of MS Excel, Word, Project, Access and Matlab.
Working knowledge of project delivery process FPDS, GPDS.
Working knowledge of quality tools EFDVS, DFMEA, APQP and DVP.
Working knowledge of Ford change management processes AIMS, WERS, PNR/PACN, PMST support.

Responsibilities:
Run existing diesel aftertreatment models to predict system performance and thereby:

Assist in the definition of aftertreatment concepts develop engine-out emissions and temperature targets.
Define aftertreatment component sizes, loadings etc.
Identify loadings etc. for optimisation studies assess systems for robustness.
Plan and assist in testing of components and systems to correlate and validate existing aftertreatment models.
Assist in the definition of improved test procedures for model correlation and validation.
Define required improvements to existing aftertreatment models.
Collaborate in the development of new (improved and extended) aftertreatment models covering all future components and systems.

Additional Info:

Candidates should have a valid UK driving licence and meet the medical requirements of testing in Client’s test facilities.
This contract will be split between Gaydon & Whitley site.

Hours:
37 hours per week

£28.86
