Reporting to:
Regional Project Manager

Main Purpose of Job:
Responsible for all aspects of management and financial control of one or a number of contracts, as instructed by the Regional Project Manager.

The Projects Engineer shall be in direct contact with the customer as the internal interface with all Company departments. Such departments shall perform a service to the Contracts Department as requested throughout the Company.

Experience and Skills Required:
Project Management experience.

HNC or higher in Mechanical Engineering.

General Engineering background.

Water Industry preferred but not essential as training can be given on the Company’s product.

Ability to manage several projects of varying sizes at one time.

Excellent organisation skills.

Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Experience in managing outside suppliers.

Other Requirements:
Willing to travel within the UK and on occasions overseas

Be adaptable to change

A Full UK Driving License.

Duties and Responsibilities:
To receive the order from the Proposals Engineer and attend a Hand-Over Meeting, if necessary and become familiar with all requirements of the contract.

Set up schedules for the timely submission and completion of all drawings, technical data, manufacturing and installation schedules, as agreed with the customer.

Oversee the progress on the contract by holding regular in-house meetings or discussions with the departments concerned.

Report any variations to the Regional Project Manager, including costs and problems that may change the forecast delivery, profitability, warranty, etc of such contracts.

Maintain contact with the customer, advising of progress, responding to correspondence and any queries relating to that contract. Attend contractual meetings with the customer as necessary, both in the UK and Overseas if required.

Maintain an effective system of contract management.

Oversee the timely submission of all invoices, approve on submission, debt collection, and related bank guarantee submission and collection.

Monitor any variation to the contract supply, terms and conditions, and ensure that all variations are reflected in the increased contract value and profitability.

Liaise closely with the Installation Manager on installation and commissioning of the equipment in accordance with the above.

Monitor the warranty period and minimise the amount of warranty claims.

Report any recurring warranty problems and where necessary produce reports for submission to the Technical department.

Any other duties that may be reasonably requested by the Regional Project Manager, or Company Directors.

Salary/Rate:
Circa £30,000 per annum depending on experience.
