Product Range:
Our Client’s wide and varied product range includes high technology, electronic power devices used within numerous applications (Systems and Vacuum and gas filled devices). The growth of business within this division is dependent upon the prompt development of new cutting edge technology products into manufacturing.
The Role:
The Project Manager is responsible for successfully managing these projects through initiation, planning, execution into manufacturing and product launch. The Project Manager also has responsibility to manage bids and undertake improvements and develop variants to products.
Person Specification:
● You will have a solid foundation in Project Management and have the desire and drive to develop into a more senior Project Management role.
● You will be able to demonstrate people management ability; promoting teamwork and coaching and guiding others to achieve the goals of the project.
● You will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and have the interpersonal skills to build effective relationships across the organisation.
● You will portray personal ownership of all facets of the project under your management, making clear decisions and taking responsibility for your actions.
Technical knowledge / experience:
● You will have experience of planning a project using MS Project (creating and maintaining a Gantt Chart with resource and budgets and identifying Critical Path).
● You will possess knowledge of Project Management methodology and Project Application.
● You will also be proficient in MS Office and have a basic understanding of Export Legislation, Risk Management, Financial Accounting & Reporting, Contract Reviews and Profit margins.
● In addition, you will have awareness of Product Launch & Marketing, Project Technology and Principles of Manufacturing.
Main Accountabilities:
● Initiating, execution, monitoring and controlling the project’s lifecycle to ensure delivery to the plan’s triple constraints; scope, timescales & budget.
● Provide effective leadership, motivation and appropriate people management of the project’s team members.
● Manage projects in response to uncertainty through planning and reducing for risk whilst establishing appropriate mitigations and contingency plans.
● Preparing and publishing project plans and required documentation for bids, tender vets, and other initiated or planned phases within projects.
● Effectively communicate project performance, issues and risks to all stakeholders (and where appropriate manage expectations) in the project.
● Ensure that all aspects of a project are coherently and effectively joined to all other facets of the business. This includes support services (e.g. Compliance, Design Office & Purchasing), manufacturing as well as marketing and sales.
● Ensure that the project’s processes adhere to agreed company procedures and standards at all times and ensuring that any legal requirements are met.
● Identify opportunities for continuous improvements of Project Management process and procedures and support improvement opportunities.
● The role may involve occasional travel abroad.
Hourly Rate:
Hourly rate negotiable
