Qualifications:
●  City & Guilds / ONC or equivalent in an engineering related discipline.
●  Extensive experience will also be considered.

Experience Essential:
●  Minimum two years experience of work with Petrol and/or Diesel engines, based at a vehicle manufacturer, independent specialist or engine management system OEM.
●  Practical knowledge of vehicle systems.
●  Welding / fabrication.
●  Petrol and/or Diesel engine operating principles.
●  Principles of engine management systems.

●  Full driving licence.
●  PC literate including Word, Excel, calibration tools and data loggers.

Job Responsibilities:
●  To provide technician support for test cell engine programs and assist with test cell maintenance as appropriate.
●  Test Cell Engine Programs.
●  Carry out engine installation and instrumentation.
●  Carry out engine tests in line with Engineers instructions.
●  Test cell maintenance: Exchange, Modification and upgrade of existing plant and equipment.
●  Assist with general site maintenance.
●  Prepare components for test on engine and/or vehicles.
●  Take responsibility for work completed ensuring that quality standards are met.
●  Liaise with engineering team, customers and suppliers in a professional manner at all times.
●  Look after Test Cell Log Books.
●  Implement site safety procedures.
●  Fire Procedures.
●  Test bed calibrations and check that equipment is in calibration before use.
●  Planning test program and supporting test bed operation to match test requirements.
●  Reporting to and liaising with engineer and project manager to solve problems and report progress.
●  Care of Instrumentation.
●  Care of Engine and Customer Parts.
●  Care of Customer Test Equipment.
●  Care of Project Stores.

Basic Hours:
●  37.5 hours per week inclusive of lunch break.
●  Hours are worked as Early or Late shift.
●  Early shift – 6am – 2pm.
●  Late shift – 2pm – 10pm.

Salary/Rate:
Circa £24,000 per annum, which includes a 12.5% shift bonus.
