First Degree Preferred – HNC minimum
Experience:
● It is necessary for candidates to have experience of integration of electronic managed engines in to vehicle powertrains, with understanding of Canbus based control systems. Experience of approval/sign-off of diesel engine installations in off-highway machines would be of benefit.
● Candidates are likely to be “well rounded” individuals who have a sound grasp of engineering fundamentals and must have the personal drive to “make things happen” in a fast moving pressured environment. Effective communication, orally and written, is important.
Responsibilities:
● The successful candidate will have responsibility for design guidance of diesel engine installations in various configurations including off-highway machines, power packs, generators etc., and evaluation of same to ensure that the installations are “fit for purpose”.
● There will be liaison with customer engineers in reviewing the integration of engines in machines.
● He/she will also be involved with trials on machines and equipment in the field to ensure safe functionality of all support systems, including:
o Electronic control systems and interface devices
o Cooling system
o Air and exhaust handling systems etc.
o Installation refinement
Hours:
39hrs basic working week - 08:00 to 17:00 (13:00 on Fridays)
Salary/Rate:
From £32k to circa £40k - dependent on experience and qualifications.
