Qualifications:
- First Degree in relevant discipline preferred, HNC minimum.
- Chemistry to ‘A’ level or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
- Candidates are likely to be “well rounded” individuals who must have a sound grasp of engineering fundamentals.
- Candidates must have the personal drive to “make things happen” in a fast moving highly demanding environment.
- Demonstrable combustion system/component design and development experience is a pre-requisite, and candidates will be expected to demonstrate understanding of the engineering reasoning behind their proposed technology recommendations, and system development plans.
The following skills are preferred:
- Combustion knowledge.
- System modeling knowledge (good mathematical background).
- A demonstrable working knowledge of chemistry.
- A demonstrable ability to make simple statistical predictions.
- Knowledge of design for assembly and manufacture in a commercially focused company.
- Working knowledge of a 3D CAD System (Unigraphics preferred).
Responsibilities:
- Working In the Design/Development Department of a leading worldwide manufacturer of Medium Duty Off Highway Diesel Engines.
- Joining a small team of highly motivated engineers in a fast moving environment with significant scope for career development, the applicant will be expected to take responsibility for:
- Engine/aftertreatment component specification, development & sign-off in a multi project environment.
- The preparation and presentation of formal design/quality documentation to include; specification, FMEA, and sign-off plans.
Hours:
39hrs basic working week
08:00 to 17:00 (13:00 on Fridays)
Salary/Rate:
From £30k to circa £35k - dependent on experience and qualifications.
