Qualifications:
A strong engineering background and a Degree/HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
The Role:
The team member will be responsible for aftertreatment system calibration development to achieve new levels of emissions legislation and application requirements.
Experience Essential:
● Candidates must have extensive diesel calibration including aftertreatment experience.
● A good understanding of diesel engine and aftertreatment fundamentals, including experience of Tier I supplier engine management systems, interface tools & software.
● Fully conversant with Matlab/Simulink analytical and simulation tools.
Responsibilities:
The main duties will include:
● Test bed & machine based Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) calibration activities, including climatic testing, to meet Tier IV 'Off-Highway' emissions legislation.
● Oversee Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) model based system calibration including - Supervisor functions, soot estimation modelling, regen manager functions, temperature control and diagnostics.
● Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) model based control system development and calibration.
● Writing development plans, including resource requirements, and engineering reports.
● Supervision of junior engineers & technicians.
● Developing testing and sign-off procedures to facilitate the continual improvement of departmental effectiveness.
Basic Hours:
39hrs / week 08:00 to 17:00 (13.00 on Fridays)
Salary/Rate:
£35K - £50K depending on experience
