Qualifications:
A strong engineering background and a Degree/HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
The Role:
As part of the calibration team you will be leading the OBD calibration development, including Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) monitoring, to achieve a robust OBD system.
Experience Essential:
● Candidates must have a good understanding of diesel engine OBD fundamentals & automotive electric/electronics, including experience of Tier I supplier engine management systems, interface tools & software.
● Experience/understanding of J1939 OBD protocol, CAN based diagnostic and service tools.
● Experience in html programming also preferable.
Responsibilities:
The main duties will include:
● Test bed & machine based engine OBD calibration activities, including climatic testing.
● Conducting OBD system validation tests to ensuring robust detection and reporting of fault conditions.
● OBD and service tools system development and strategy specification.
● Writing development plans, including resource requirements and engineering reports.
● Liaison with other client divisions (Manufacturing and Service) ensuring robust integration.
● Supervision of junior engineers & technicians.
● Developing testing and sign off procedures to facilitate the continual improvement of departmental effectiveness.
Basic Hours:
39hrs / week 08:00 to 17:00 (13.00 on Fridays)
Salary/Rate:
£30K - £35K (Engineer)
£35K - £45K (Senior Engineer)
