Qualifications:
A strong engineering background and a Degree/HND in Electronic/Mechanical/Control Systems Engineering or equivalent experience.

The Role:
Candidates will need to have a flexible, hands-on and open-minded approach and be able to work as part of a focused team within tight deadlines.

Experience Essential:
●  Candidates will need considerable experience in Diesel Engine Control.
●  Have a good understanding of diesel engine fundamentals & automotive electric/electronics, including experience of Tier 1 supplier engine management systems, HIL testing (especially DSpace Control Desk scripting) rapid prototype coding, Matlab and Simulink, CAN bus analysis tool (e.g. CANanalyser), J1939 CAN protocol, interface tools & application software.

Responsibilities:
The main duties will include:

●  Application of control theory and test methodologies to develop robust engine calibrations.
●  Hardware in the Loop system (DSpace) commissioning and development of both hardware and user interface software.
●  Implementation and maintenance of real time Simulink engine and driveline models within HIL system.
●  Developing automated HIL test sequences for ECU validation including regression testing, fault insertion and OBD validation.
●  Implementing rapid prototype coded solutions to support engine development programmes.
●  Developing test procedures to facilitate the continual improvement of departmental effectiveness.
●  Develop in-house application tools (html, C, C++) for CAN bus analysis, development, data logging and diagnostic tools.

Basic Hours:
39hrs / week 08:00 to 17:00 (13.00 on Fridays)

Salary/Rate:
£35K - £45K depending on experience.
