Senior Software Engineer

Job Status:
Contract – 6 months

Reporting to:
Software Manager

Qualifications:
Degree or similar qualification in a relevant subject.

Essential Skills:

• Strong C#
  
• C/C++ background
  
• Experience using WPF for developing GUIs
  
• Experience developing applications for the Microsoft Windows operating systems, Windows XP as a minimum
  
• Excellent problem solving abilities
  
• Ability to deal with multiple complex problems at one time and switch quickly between them
  
• Experience of designing software using modular methodologies
  

Preferred Skills:

• Microsoft Visual Studio . Net tools including 2008 version.
  
• Real time control of electronic hardware and an appreciation of its design
  
• Database interface experience including ODBC, SQL
  
• Multi-threaded programming techniques
  
• Strong maths
  
• Application tuning
  

Main Job Function:

• Developing operating and control systems for test equipment used in the semiconductor industry. These systems use embedded DSP platforms to perform data measurement, collection and real-time motion control. PCs running on Windows XP or Vista operating systems provide the operator interfaces, analysis and display.
