Reporting to:
Group Operations Director

Context and Purpose:
●  Against a backdrop of growth and change across the organisation, this position has been created to lead quality initiatives and efficiencies across the Group. This position involves the Leadership and Management of the Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental Group Policy, Standards and Programmes across all premises and activities.
●  The complexity of the systems and processes within the organisation requires strengths across all Health and Safety disciplines, including Traditional Safety, Fire, Occupational Health, Occupational Hygiene, and Radiological Protection. Environmental competencies should include experience of waste management, recycling, land contamination, air and water pollution.

Main Accountabilities:
●  Develop the strategic direction of HSE affairs within the business, and develop and execute strategic plans for work activities over the short/medium/long term.
●  Maintain organisational focus on the Company’s top ten risks, providing a framework for monitoring risks across the organisation.
●  Drive forward change within the HSE organisations to ensure processes, systems, policies, and procedures deliver benefit to the business.
●  Lead and develop the Group Health, Safety & Environmental teams Involving both direct and indirect reports.
●  Develop formal networks internally and externally to provide accurate advice on HSE issues to ensure that the company is compliant with statutory legislation.
●  Embed HSE culture across all sites ensuring compliance with statutory legislation and company minimum standards driving continuous improvement.
●  Ensure that relevant training and education is provided for Company personnel by means of internal trainers and external training providers.
●  Manage the risk assessment and internal audit programmes across the business to ensure compliance with statutory legislation and continuous improvement of the business processes and systems.
●  Develop financial plans, manage costs, and generate appropriate KPIs to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.

Essential Experience:
Qualifications / experience across a broad range of HS&E disciplines will be desirable such as:

●  Qualification and experience of health & safety, environment, fire, occupational health and hygiene, and radiological protection.
●  Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation together with extensive experience of the development of HS&E standards and their practical implementation.
●  Familiarity with Management System requirements of various industry sectors such as information technology, industrial, defence, medical, automotive, hazardous area, etc.
●  Previous experience in a multi site international organization.
●  Excellent leadership, report writing, change management, and communication skills.
●  Memberships of various HSE organizations.
●  Conversant with ISO systems.

Organigram / Additional Information:
The position reports directly to the Group Operations Director and is responsible for the management and implementation of OHSE internationally.

Salary:
£60,000 - £80,000
